Born and raised in Ireland in a small village in the west of County Clare, Melissa Mc Inerney has had a love of sport and fitness since she was a child. Her love of being active and fit is shown in all her past time activities. At an early age she began her active life with many past times to name just a few Irish dancing, karate, basketball, kickboxing, Gaelic football and Camogie.
At the age of 24 she made the move to come to Australia to explore the country as a backpacker but fell in love with the weather, people and the country. Once settled in Brisbane she joined a Gaelic football team in mount Gravitt called Souths which she currently still plays with every Sunday. After previous experience with a personal trainer melissa made the move to make a pivotal career change to study at Max internal college for fitness professionals in Spring Hill to pursue her passion for fitness as a full time endeavour.
Melissa started her career in the fitness industry as fitness professional in January 2010. Her instruction is focused on “improving people’s self esteem through a lifestyle that embraces physical fitness.’ From previous experiences I understand the feeling in bigger gyms not knowing where to start and the uncomfortable feeling you get when you exert yourself beside vain guys and girls in limited clothing that live in the gym as a social hangout. I find that can be off putting and distracting and sometimes may even be the cause that people quit their fitness journey so early.
Taking all this into consideration, plus many other factors I have the passion to make getting fit and healthy a fun part of life rather than a chore. I have a bubbly personality that likes to have fun exercising and help people reach their true potential and also enjoy the journey that will help them change their opinion of exercise.
There is so many ways to exercise that can help people’s heart rate rise and get them active that will increase their life span, so each avenue is considered and discussed to find the best program tailored to each individual so it is accomplishable and brings people closer to their goals.
Always striving to reach and inspire more people, Melissa has also dedicated her time to ensuring that her qualifications are up to date and every avenue is considered and continual study so programs can be tailored to the individual needs. Exercise should be fun and a major part of people lives that they get excited about not the opposite and my lives dream is to get people as excited as I am.
